It’s release day! Holy hot cowboys batman! I must admit I have fallen for cowboys, at least in romance books.
As a result I have delved into the writing of sexy cowboys and their equally sexy women. In Taking Her Chance, Beth and Chance are former lovers who meet again via a dating service. I had a lot of fun helping them work through the issues that drove them apart originally.
It was a whole lot of wrong time and a bit of poor communication that kept them apart. This kind of story is always interesting to me. Two people meet, have amazing chemistry, but it is just the wrong point in their lives. They’re headed down two separate paths.
So, of course, since it’s release day I’m going to do a giveaway! Just comment below with a book suggestion with a similar wrong time theme (or heck, maybe it’s just got a cowboy in it!) to be entered to win one of five copies. If you tweet about the giveaway (use hash tag #THerC) and post it in my comments I’ll count it as an extra entry. Two entries max per person please. Contest ends May 28th and winners will be announced May 29th. Don’t want to wait? Buy it now for $.99
A smile. An encouraging word. A thoughtful gesture. Each day people interact with us, help, and make our day a bit brighter and full. This is especially true in the Writing Community.
Take a second to think about writers you know, like the critique partner who works with you to improve your manuscript. The writing friend who listens, supports and keeps you strong when times are tough. The author who generously offers council, advice and inspiration when asked.
So many people take the time to make us feel special, don’t they? They comment on our blogs, re-tweet our posts, chat with us on forums and wish us Happy Birthday on Facebook.
To commemorate the release of their book The Emotion Thesaurus, Becca and Angela at The Bookshelf Muse are hosting a TITANIC Random Act Of Kindness BLITZ. And because I think KINDNESS is contagious, I’m participating too!
**State here who you are Blitzing, why you chose them and what you are offering as your RAOK. For example: I am randomly picking Kristen Koster, who is an awesome crit partner and who has really helped whip plot-holes into shape. For my RAOK gift, I’m offering to critique a first chapter for one commentor!
I really appreciate Kristen, who blogs at Impulsive Hearts. If you have a minute, please stop in and tell her how awesome she is!**
Do you know someone special that you’d like to randomly acknowledge?
Don’t be shy–come join us and celebrate! Send them an email, give them a shout out, or show your appreciation in another way. Kindness makes the world go round.
Becca and Angela have a special RAOK gift waiting for you as well, so hop on over to The Bookshelf Muse to pick it up.
Have you ever participated in or been the recipient of a Random Act Of Kindness? Let me know in the comments!
