An ancient vampire, an ancient grief…a love that makes his blood sing…
Midnight Playground, Book 2
Aleron is ancient, powerful, immortal…a vampire who idles away his time playing at his favorite haunt, Midnight Playground. His favorite toys: beautiful young men. His game: BDSM, experiencing through the minds of his partners the sensations he can no longer quite feel himself.
The one thing he has vowed to avoid at all costs is love, especially for a woman. In a hundred years he has never been tempted to break that vow—until a lovely mortal woman enters his dungeon to watch him play. And his blood hums the ancient song of long-forgotten desire.
Raised in the Indian slums of London, exotic dancer Meeraj enters Midnight Playground a woman with nothing left to lose, numb to all but the most extreme forms of stimulation. As she watches Aleron’s blood play, she knows only his razor-sharp skills will satisfy. And she catches an odd mental glimpse of the grief that shadows his heart.
From their first touch, they are caught up in a whirlwind of exquisite agony that releases their emotions from the weight of the past. Exposing them to risks they’ve both fought to avoid. Love…and loss.

Once a month, a bunch of authors get together and post excerpts from published books, contracted work or works in progress, and link to each other. You don’t have to be published to participate just a writer with an excerpt you’d like to share. For more info on how to participate, head over to the Excerpt Monday site! or click on the banner above.
A little about the excerpt I am posting. This is a novella I am drafting, a hot steampunk I will eventually finish. It’s simmering on the back burner for the moment. It is a spin on a Rapunzel tale.
Feel free to comment or critique, I am always open to dialogue about my writing.
I am coming up on ten years of marriage. Holy crap! Did I just type that? Yep. 10 years. Not an insignificant length of time these days. Makes one wonder, how do we keep the flame alive? Well, personally…DH and work at it. Yes we are both a bit out of shape, but we make a point to prioritize us. We go to dinner together. Spend time together. Vacation together. You might notice a key word here…together. LOL!
We also touch each other. We hold hands at dinner. We hug, we kiss, we are intimate. Sure I wear lingerie and he puts on his sexy outfit (no I will not explain that!), but there is so much more to it than those elements alone. What I want to know is, what do you do to keep that flame alive?
I love my corsets. I have a few and I have varying kinds from the very traditional one I wore under my wedding dress to my more modern ones I wear…well just to take off. I love them all. they make me feel sexy, sometimes even when I am not feeling that way. They also make my already curvy shape look even nicer. So I want to know about you and your corset habits…if you have one. Stop and tell me when you like to wear one, and be sure to leave a comment!
